Thanks for your comment, mom of many, but I should clarify something. I wasn’t insinuating that a person makes this decision alone about what they can handle. I probably wasn’t clear enough, but when I said “most Jewish authorities would agree” and “speak to your LOR” I was explaining that when to use contraception is determined with a rabbi. Thank you for commenting so I could clarify the point.

Just saw this now, not sure I agree with your point on being allowed to take bc even if you haven’t managed a boy and a girl. since “what you can handle” is a relative term and may not include parameters the Rabbonim agree with. Good article tho even in sleep deprived state (oh and mazel tov)

hormonal birth control (the pill and IUD’s) is the birth control of choice, when birth control is used. if a person cannot be on hormones, then there are leniencies to allow for diaphragms and spermicide.

you don’t talk about birth control; only about having as many children as one can handle. what kind of birth control as jews allows to use?

nice! we do the same as catholics..but we are forbidden to have any anticonception method not natural.
It’s amazing how catholicism has roots on judaism!
